Creating Working Directories

Several of the SIP services and agents need working directories where they can create temporary and permanent files, log files, etc. You have been provided with a script that prepares the necessary directories, making them accessible both to the service account that all of the SIP services run under, and also to the admin account that you are logged in to.

Execute the script to create the directories

cd ~ && sudo bash bin/setup-sip-directories.sh

You should see something like:

Using service user: sip-service
Using service group: sip-service
Granting invoking user access: admin
Created or updated: /sip/snapshot
Created or updated: /sip/log
Created or updated: /sip/data
Created or updated: /sip/tmp
Created or updated: /sip/tmp/isam-agent
Created or updated: /sip/tmp/json-agent
Created or updated: /sip/tmp/sql-agent
SELinux is disabled or unavailable; skipping SELinux labeling.

SIP directories are ready. Verify with:
  ls -ldZ /sip /sip/snapshot /sip/log /sip/data /sip/tmp /sip/tmp/isam-agent /sip/tmp/json-agent /sip/tmp/sql-agent

Execute this command to verify access

ls -ldZ /sip /sip/snapshot /sip/log /sip/data /sip/tmp /sip/tmp/isam-agent /sip/tmp/json-agent /sip/tmp/sql-agent

You should see something like this:

drwxrwx---+ 7 root sip-service ? 85 Oct 7 13:26 /sip
drwxrws---+ 2 sip-service sip-service ? 6 Oct 7 13:00 /sip/data
drwxrws---+ 2 sip-service sip-service ? 6 Oct 7 13:00 /sip/log
drwxrws---+ 2 sip-service sip-service ? 6 Oct 7 13:00 /sip/snapshot
drwxrws---+ 5 sip-service sip-service ? 59 Oct 7 13:26 /sip/tmp
